About the Artist
Linda Rowell is a mixed media artist living with her husband, 3 dogs, and her horse “Blue,” in The Flint Hills of Kansas. She started drawing and painting as a child on her own, and after receiving instruction from her artist mentors, she is now a full time working artist. After living in California for most of her life and seeing what over-crowded conditions does to surrounding nature, conserving nature through art has become very important to her. Today, much of her work centers around the tall grass prairie landscape and the creatures within. In her words, “I don’t want to simply draw or paint the landscape and wildlife... I want to convey my response to them and to speak of a world that is lost to many and the importance of preserving that which is still with us. Nature has the potential to connect us to one another if we let it.” Linda also teaches art privately.
